Happiness: the Direction on Your Compass

Q: My first and foremost goal with you, Higg(in)s, is to enjoy an enjoyable life. I guess that is happiness.

H: You must, then, set your attention on Enjoyment and Happiness. Make Happiness your destination. Think of a compass. Compasses orient towards North. You may wish to go West, East, or South but you know where West, East, and South are based on the compass needle pointing North. If Happiness is your destination and you feel anything else during the preponderance of your awake time, then you will not be surprised when you end up somewhere else.

Rather than try to find Happiness right from the start, aim for something easier to achieve. Aim for Pleasant Days. Pleasant Days is a nice location and not so hard to achieve. Then, from Pleasant Days, you can begin to lean towards Enjoyment. Then Happiness. Then you may even want to try some Joy and Bliss.
