The Kindness Paradigm (47)

Question:     What is the difference between kindness and kind acts?

Higgins:     Kindness issues forth from the heart. A kind act is just that, a kind act. It may or may not be generated by kindness. A kind act is not always a good thing. A kind act motivated by kindness is always a good thing.

Question:     When would a kind act not be a good thing?

Higgins:     A predator luring a child by offering it a treat. A treat is imagined to be a kindness, a good thing. In this case the treat is bait. Giving a gift hoping to gain financially at a later date is another example. A kind act creates greatest expansion when it is generated in a kind heart.

Question:     Could a person who makes kind acts not in kindness learn to? Or make change such that they made truly kind acts?

Higgins:     Yes, by developing compassion.

Question:     How does compassion help?

Higgins:     True kindness overflows the compassionate heart.

Question:     Are there people who would not want to develop compassion and act from kindness?

Higgins:     Of course.

Question:     How would we get those people to want to?

Higgins:     We don’t. Remember that all things must be lovingly allowed. What you will do is wait. These people have two options:  They will either be caught up in the mass consciousness as it expands and be unable to resist the desire to change (as in the Hundredth Monkey Theory), or they won’t. They will eventually die, as you all will. If they die then they will be reborn into the expanded consciousness with less resistance to the new order.

Questioner:     Thank you. No more questions.

The Kindness Paradigm (46)

Question:     How, or perhaps where, do we begin living in a paradigm of kindness?

Higgins:     Mankind begins living in a paradigm of kindness when one person decides to make decisions based on kindness and subsequently take action that uplifts others as well as themselves.

When one person ‘catches’ the Kindness Bug it will spread like the flu only nicer.

Using this as the definition of how to start living in a paradigm of kindness, one person has decided to live this way. Many have. Thus, all you are awaiting is a Kindness Bug pandemic.

We would have you note that this is much easier and could happen much more quickly than most of you expect it can. Your Earth experience is filled with metaphor. Life is not only a mirror, reflecting your thoughts and beliefs, it is also a hologram reflecting the same thing over and over again. The world social system is already programmed for the rapid spread of information, social behaviors and disease. All that need happen is a tuning in to kind behavior instead. If the news programmers believe it will capture your attention and your imagination they will show it repeatedly and that is all it will take to spread the Kindness Bug like wildfire.

The Kindness Paradigm (45)

Question:     What needs to be put in place for us to live in a Kindness Paradigm?

Higgins:     Nothing. No thing needs to be established before mankind begins living in this re-enlivened way. In fact, it’s just the opposite. To begin living in kindness one must begin to be kind. One. Then two. Then three and so on. When a critical number is reached some obvious changes will show themselves.

We know that the educational system will undergo a tremendous overhaul one easy step at a time. The governmental defense systems will come to understand that social unrest has a cause that must be addressed because it cannot be subdued with arms. This will shift the posture of defense systems from domination to inclusion.

The source of food, water and energy will shift from large business to largely locally sourced. (Without precluding the delicious variety of food that stems from a global economy.) On site production will be common. Communities will develop a sense of community. Communities will likely be smaller, walking human scale, with travel between communities common and easy. They will be beautiful, built with integrity and with the comfort and needs of humans in mind while cozily co-existing with Mother Nature.

Part of the beauty of living kindly is the happiness of one another is foremost. This leads to encouraging one another to live out their dreams in a grand way. Discovery has never truly been limited but certainly it feels limited, especially by the dollar. In a Kindness Paradigm solutions are sought and problems are solved wholesomely. There are many ways to achieve a thing and together you find your individual and collective creativity unparalleled and unhampered.

We much appreciate that you, as a people, are reaching this evolutionary threshold. There is much love held for you.

Clarification on Heart’s Desires

Question:     In the post on December 16, 2014 I asked you how to pursue the heart’s desires. Paraphrasing what you said:  Do the thing you love to do with gusto. Do everything else with gusto, too, or at least as much gusto as you can muster.

What if the heart seems to have no desires? Or maybe I’m asking how to discover the Heart’s Desires which I assume you mean to by synonymous with our It thing.

Higgins:     Beautiful question.

The heart has desires. Much like a tender, budding fire the flames of which must be gently fed and blown upon until the fire roars under its own power, those desires, when they whisper, must be tenderly nurtured. The heart’s yearnings lead one on a road of discovery. It is the traveling along the road of discovery that leads one to an understanding of their It thing. Then, once one discovers their It thing, one’s focus narrows while their forms of expression expand.

The Heart’s Desires and the It thing are two different things. The Heart’s Desires lead one to express their It thing even if one never clarifies what their It thing is. One does not need to know their It thing in order to live a happy, fulfilled life but they must follow their Heart’s Desires to be happy (and safe, prosperous, fulfilled, healthy…).

It is worth reiterating that the heart has desires. No matter how timorous the heart’s attempts at notifying one of its desires may be, all hearts do flicker. Those hearts that are badly trodden and ignored do not speak very loudly but they do speak and as one learns to respond to those flickers the heart grows stronger and the little soul and soul carrier become correspondingly happier, healthier and more confident.

Utopia or Natural Order of Things?

Question:    You mentioned in the post dated January 3, 2015 something about money-less societies that do not use trade or barter. I’ve heard of that before and think of that as a sort of utopia. Recently, though, I heard from a different source, not you, that it would not be utopia but instead simply the natural order of things.

Is a truly money-less system, without trade and without barter, the natural order of things?

Higgins:     To give freely of oneself for one’s greatest happiness and expansion is the natural order. It is what God does. Use money or trade and barter or don’t. If you do choose to use money use it gently.

Does Money Have Value?

Question:     Does money have value? I’m not asking about how much a dollar is worth, I refer instead to the concept of money.

Higgins:     Money is a useful tool. Money is compact, portable and easily traded for goods and services. It is however also perfectly acceptable to construct a money-less system. Both have advantages. A money-less system that does not involve trade or barter supports the greatest potential for expansion of the mind.

The most important thing, really, for you to consider regarding money is whether it is worth the value you give it. It is a man-made construct and should be taken lightly and used as the tool it is. Money is not inherently evil but has come to be used inappropriately much of the time. The more important thing to consider is whether each of you has found your happy thing. If you have, money is likely flowing easily and being used as the relatively unimportant but convenient tool that it is.

Quoting Henry Ford

Cheryl:     I got scolded this morning. Here it is…..

Higgins:     “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”
~Henry Ford~

Each of you has Spirit Guides that assist you in achieving your goals. They do so by inspiring interest within. Subsequently, you are guided by your emotions as to whether you are moving in the right direction or the wrong direction….sort of like a game of Hot and Cold.

You all receive the impulses just fine. You all receive the guiding emotions just fine. You simply do not follow them to the letter. Then you complain because life isn’t the way you want it to be. Our response is as Yoda said, “Do or do not. There is no try.”

Romans 8:28 King James Version ~ And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

Each of you is “called” by inspiration and inclination to a “purpose” (thing that will bring you happiness when you do it, develop skill to do it well, and do it with heart). “Loving God” means loving yourself, trusting yourself enough to follow your call with all your heart, mind and soul. We tell you absolutely that if you do this, the Universe will move for you. “All things working together for good to them that love God” is the Universe moving to accommodate your needs and desires as the reflection of God that you are.

Envision a picture of a magnificent snowy mountain reflected in a still lake.  God is the beautiful snowy mountain. The Earth realm is the still lake. You are the reflection of the mountain in the lake. The more you love God (as defined in the previous paragraph) the clearer, purer your reflection in the lake.

You are loved and respected. Hold love and respect for yourself. Then act accordingly.

Do not quaver. Do not flinch. Just do it and do it with kindness.

The Kindness Paradigm (44)

It is important to understand that within a paradigm of kindness none other is diminished. While others may not choose to live their lives as fully as they might, your choosing to live your life fully diminishes no one.

The Kindness Paradigm (43)

We are not planning terrorist attacks, shootings, murders or robberies when we are happy with the direction our lives are taking. So find your thing and pursue it. Help everyone around you find and pursue their thing. It will bring about the change we all seek in the world.

How to Pursue the Heart’s Desires

Question:     How does one pursue their heart’s desires? You talked about our inclinations being bumpers that keep us in line, moving towards happiness. Truthfully, I don’t see a lot of people thriving the way I think they would if they were living out their heart’s desires like you talk about.

Higgins:     Yes. You are right about that. Most of you do not express exuberance regarding life. Let’s take your dog for example.

(Note from Cheryl: I asked this question. My dog is a seven or eight year old chocolate lab that I adopted from the Everett Animal Shelter when he was about 6 or 8 months old.)

This dog does everything happily but when it comes to tennis balls he leaves absolutely whatever he is doing to fetch that ball. He will fetch to exhaustion with joy and then beg for more. This fellow does the same job, ball fetching, every day of his life and yet each time you show him the ball he responds with the same intense enthusiasm.

His job is simple. He goes to where the ball is. Picks it up. Brings it back to you. Yet, he performs his job with joy every single time despite any hazards. Blackberry bushes, hot weather, cold weather, rain, snow, ice, cold water, coyotes and porcupines add a certain dimension of danger to every hunt.  He has from time to time cut himself on sharp objects and hurt his feet. His muscles certainly must ache with the effort he applies. Still, he leaps with joy when you show him the ball.

This is a dog that follows his heart’s desires. He differs from you and most people in that he knows what makes him happy and he doesn’t EVER think, “Woe is me. All I do well is run after a stupid ball and bring it back. It’s totally pointless.” Or, “Ugg. This is so stupid. I want to do something meaningful.” This dog finds his greatest joy in things people often consider too small and insignificant to count.

Let’s think back to your mother’s last dog. Oliver was a love machine and wouldn’t chase a ball. It wasn’t in him to do that. But he loved well. He never once felt bitterness because he wasn’t an enthusiastic ball chaser. He just loved everyone he came in contact with in the best way he knew every day of his life. That was enough for him because loving was him.

This is the point you are missing as you follow your heart’s desires. So many of you pass over the parts of yourself that love well or find pleasure in simple things in order to express a part of you that produces income. You sacrifice your happiness to pay the bills.

It is entirely possible for each of you to gain financial support doing something you love to do. The birds do it, the fish do it, your dog does it and you can do it.

We want you to start today by unapologetically taking time to do something you enjoy. Take the time to do it thoroughly and well. Rediscover how much fun it is to play Frisbee or take a walk with a friend. What you will discover is you are the only thing getting in the way of you enjoying life. You will start wanting to make change and blame not being able to have more time to enjoy yourself on your job or the system. Stop that. The world will shift to accommodate your desires as you simmer in deep and abiding appreciation for the activity you are engaged in.

That is the clincher. You must allow the world to get up and move for you while you immerse yourself in deep and abiding appreciation for the activity you are engaged in. Like a dog, you will feel that deep and abiding appreciation for everything that comes your way. When you are lucky enough to spend a little time doing the thing you really love to do you will do it with gusto. Then you will do all the rest of the things you have to do with gusto, too. While you are doing this the world will shift and more and more of the time you will find yourself doing things you truly enjoy.

This is an important aspect of following the heart’s desires.
