The Gospel of Barnabas

Question:     Is the Gospel of Barnabas a true record of accurate written words? Or was it forged to make it different than the 4 Gospels that are currently in the Bible? It seems there is debate over the new ‘book.’ Was it written well after Jesus and not an accurate writing or is it still very accurate?

Higgins:     It is important when considering Biblical scripture and other writings surrounding Jesus to remember that they were written after events occurred. The words of Jesus are paraphrased as the writer remembers. Similarly, stories are recounted as remembered. Often, one person’s perception of an event will differ from another’s.

In the Gospel of Barnabas, Barnabas is reported to ask Jesus (we paraphrase), “How can I recount this story when I was not there?”

We include this to help you understand that the stories, all of the stories around Jesus, contain some truth and some inaccuracy. The point of the stories is not to provide perfect historical accuracy but rather to disseminate the wisdom teachings of a man whose connection to Spirit/Source/God/Allah was clear and unfettered.

The Four Gospels and Barnabas

Question:     My question is which is the truth about Jesus…the 4 Gospels that are currently in the Bible today or is the new book of the Gospel of Barnabas telling the truth or is neither one or a combination of them all telling the truth?

Higgins:     There exists no one version of Jesus’ time on Earth that is completely accurate. In that time that Jesus lived on Earth his teachings challenged the current belief system to such an extent that his life was literally endangered. Moreover, very often it was not safe to be a follower of Jesus teachings. When his teachings were committed to writing the words had to be chosen in such a way as to not be too threatening to those that formed the ruling, governing entity.

That is in great part why there are variations, discrepancies, vagaries and (allow us to coin a word) vague-aries in Biblical stories.

In part, of course, there are always variations in a story when more than one person is recounting simply because one person’s perspective will differ from another’s.

To answer your question more directly: All the versions contain some truth and none are completely accurate.

Struggling with Grief and Depression

Cheryl’s note: This is a continuing response. First portion posted September 30, 2014 as Body Itches All Over

Question:     I am also struggling with my grief and depression, which is what brought me to (hospital). I feel hopeless and can’t seem to move forward. When I try to make progress on my mental and emotional health, my physical ailment causes me so much distress and misery I seem to lose my footing. I just am hoping for some answers so I can recover all around in mind, body and spirit.

Higgins:     The real issue you face is grief and depression. We mentioned in the first portion of our response to you about the itching that you are hemorrhaging energy. Someone or some event has occurred that is literally draining you of life’s energy. That is why you can’t move forward. In order to solve this, practice retraining your energy to flow harmoniously from head to toe as we described yesterday.

Every person has the capacity to draw staggering amounts of energy from their Universal Source. All issues humans face require physical or mental energy expenditure. This is true whether the situation is a happy one or whether it is emotionally difficult. We want you to clearly understand that regardless of the situation plenty of energy is available to you. How you flow the energy is the deciding factor as to whether the situation becomes life draining.

When one’s personal energy flows turgidly, robustly from head to toe as it should then one makes decisions and takes action from a place of centeredness. This is not only more satisfactory to the giver but also to the receiver. This is so because the receiver will be ‘forced’ to learn stand in their own power (which they intended when they came forward the into physical) rather than drain you of yours.

The next step for you, after relaxing mentally and collecting your energy, is to stop trying to make progress. We realize this may seem counter intuitive. Remember that the first most important thing you can do to help yourself is relax mentally about your situation, whatever it may be. Rather than ‘try to make progress’ we ask you instead: try to find humor everywhere, try to find beauty everywhere, try to truly appreciate as much of life as possible.

Small opportunities will present for you to take action. Take action. Then resume a relaxed mental state, check your personal energy flow and resume a flow of appreciative thoughts.

Relaxing about your situation in life will resolve the itching. Taking small, very small, action steps as they arise will help you climb away from your uncomfortable situation into a happy situation. The tendency, though, is to look at the mountain of very small steps that need to be taken to move your life situation from here to there and to calculate the amount of time it will take to accomplish all this. This sort of thinking is detrimental and will cause your skin to itch again. Each time you find yourself in this mode of thinking simply remind yourself of Lao-tzu’s quote: The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

If you will enjoy every single step, your life and your health will begin to flow smoothly.

Is Ebola the Rise of the Zombies?

Question:      Is ebola the start rise of the zombies?

Higgins:     Yes and no. The ugliest symptom of ebola is severe and uncontrollable bleeding. A person afflicted with ebola who begins to bleed both internally and externally develops ugly sores that look eerily similar to the way zombies are depicted in television and movies.

Anytime a person’s attention is attuned to a thing, more of that thing is created in the life of that person. The current zombie craze has millions of people tuning into television and movies that graphically depict walking dead. Thus, literally the zombie craze has created in the mass conscious a disease that creates walking dead.

To counter ebola and prevent the rise of similar afflictions we encourage you, en masse, to gently turn away from inflammatory horror-style television and movies. Lean instead towards all things gentle and peaceful. This will sway the creation of mass consciousness towards gentle, peaceful things and ebola will slip easily away.

Body Itches All Over

Question:     I currently am struggling with a mystery itching illness. My body constantly itches all over and has for the last couple months. The doctors have found no answers for me and are telling me they hope it works itself out.

Higgins:    Body ailments stem from harbored emotional discomfort and mirror one’s emotional state. A body that ‘constantly itches all over’ is a reflection of someone who is uncomfortable in their own skin.

It is not unusual at all for humans to be uncomfortable in their bodies. Bodies are housing units. The soul is eternal. The soul enjoys human life for the opportunity for spiritual expansion and growth that physical life provides. Wearing a body feels to the soul a little like wearing ski gloves to thread a needle. It is cumbersome and while some become quite skilled at it others never quite identify with their body.

You are suffering a disease of the spirit that is manifesting in your body. The first thing, and quite frankly the most helpful thing, that you can do is relax your mind. No amount of mental work or struggle will solve this problem, but relaxing your mind can.

So for tonight we want you to relax about all your problems, whatever they may be. We realize this sounds simplistic but it is very effective. While you begin to let go of thought, practice breathing. Breathe in. Breathe out.

When you are ready, we want you to make a statement to self, “Energy stay with me.” Energy is designed to flow from just above the head to just below the feet (this is the condensed version of energy flow). You are losing a lot of energy off to your left. It probably feels to your ego (that little person that provides the sense of an ‘I’) as though you are hemorrhaging energy and it is frightening to self/ego because it feels like death. Energy loss like this is a spiritual emergency and should be treated urgently.

In a few seconds to minutes you will feel more full. When you feel ready direct your energy to flow head to toe. The earth is the ground for human energy. Even if you are lying in bed direct the energy head to toe. It will find its appropriate way.

Then remember to relax mind and body. Breathe. Drink water. Ask for a pitcher of water and bless the water. Tell it, “Thank you. I appreciate what you do for my body.” Allow it to sit for 10 minutes before you drink it. Bless it every time more water is added.

Sleep on this. We will address the remainder of your question later.

John 3:16, What Does It Mean?

Question:     What exactly does this verse mean? In John 3:16 it states, “16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Higgins:     The Bible was not written in English. Further, it is a collection of writings by multiple individuals who were trying to comprehend and then explain some rather esoteric information. We venture further to say that some sentences in the Bible are translated incompletely and sometimes inaccurately thus the meaning is unclear.

We would have you read John 3:13.

From the King James Version, “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven.”

The same verse from the New English Bible, “No one ever went up to heaven except the one who came down from heaven, the Son of Man whose home is in heaven.

The two verses, John 3: 13,16 are trying to say this:

That which man is comes from ‘heaven’. Let’s define ‘heaven’ as the non-physical realm, more specifically non-physical and embedded within one’s Eternal Broader Soul which is completely linked to and in synch with that Prime Source of All That Is (God/Allah).

Man, a sub-part of the Eternal Broader Soul, is a Little Soul housed in a physical body. When the Bible refers to ‘coming down from heaven’ it means a Little Soul birthing into a human body. Returning to heaven simply means the Little soul leaves the body and reconnects with the Broader Self.

It may help to think of the Eternal Broader Soul as Man and the Little Soul that comes into the physical body as the Son of Man, the child, or off-spring of the Eternal Broader Soul. (We won’t press this idea but it might help.)

Each human is a child (read creation or work of art) of God/Allah/Great Spirit. That Supreme Being gives each human free will and the right to make choices for themselves knowing that not all choices humans make will be in harmony with the truth of their God Spirit. God continually emits a sort of homing signal so that any human child that wants to ‘return’ to God while still in the human form is able to do so. Awakening to that spirit call is often described as being born again. It is not a metaphorical birth. It is a birth of the spirit essence of the Little Soul.

Jesus was not God’s only begotten son. You are all begotten sons of God. Jesus was however, agreeable to coming to Earth with the specific intent of assisting you all in remembering who you are, a child of God, and by the way, extremely powerful with the capability of performing ‘miracles’ the same as Jesus himself did. In fact, miracles are not miracles at all. ‘Miracles’ ought be the norm and had so much information that Jesus shared not been lost, hidden and destroyed many of you would now think that miracles are the normal way of life. Miracles would be taken for granted.

“For whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life….” Right. Because any of you who come to believe know that there is no death. There is only life, physical life, non-physical life, but life. Eternal Consciousness.

In summary, we would have you understand the Bible is incomplete. It is a wonderful starting point for those who feel the pull of the homing signal that God continually emits. Not one of you need ever look outside your own heart to find the answers you seek. We know however, that many of you do. As long as even one of you seeks answers Jesus-style beings will volunteer to come to Earth and share with you what it is to be human.

You are love and you are loved. What you seek shall be offered unto you. If the Bible is unclear as an answer to your questions, continue seeking. Every piece of information you come across will eventually lead you straight back to the wisdom in your own heart.

Has Androgynous Spirit Guide

Question:     Thank you for this information. Both you and Higgins. I have two other questions if they are inclined to answer.

You mentioned that I have one powerful guide who is androgynous.   Can they elaborate?

Is it possible to know if I have spent other lifetimes with my daughter and my son or this is our first together?

Bless you for you time and your sharing and your efforts to share Higgins with the world.

Higgins:     A)     All Spirit Guides are powerful, helpful beings. They would not be chosen to assist on this difficult Earth adventure if they were not highly qualified.

B)     Both negative and positive, yin and yang, male and female exist in every speck of What Is. Every speck of dust, every tree, every person, every non-physical energy entity is whole this way. Most people and many non-physical entities choose to express either the masculine side or the negative side more intensely.

C)     Going backwards along the Universal Family Tree to the Godhead, God expresses itself as both/and rather than either/or.

D)     Sliding forwards along the Universal Family Tree from the Godhead towards humans, the oldest beings (God’s first children) have become Godlike in that they express both/and.

E)     Many people choose two or more Spirit Guides, one ‘male’, one ‘female’, for balance.

D)     Let’s describe your personal guide as two generations older than the typical Spirit Guide. Thus, in a manner of speaking, your Guide is a two-fer. You got two in one. This more mature Guide maintains a certain stability that the typical Guide cannot provide.

E)     A person would choose this sort of Guide when the plan for the Earth realm was especially difficult or you truly, without fail, intended to master some aspect of being human.

F)     With guides who are closer to humans on the Universal Family Tree it is sometimes easier to develop fun, interactive relationships. A Guide like yours is much more likely to be discrete and unwavering.

As for your children and whether this is your first life together: No. Neither of your children would entrust such difficult life experiences to a stranger.

A Conversation about Jesus and Salvation, Heaven and Hell

Question:     I have some Biblical questions. Many believe in Jesus to be their Lord and Savior and saving them from their sins so they don’t go to hell after they die.

Higgins:     Jesus is not a Lord and Savior in this way. There is no physical location known as Hell. Nor is there a location called Heaven. When a human dies the soul leaves the body and reconnects with its Broader Soul. Occasionally a person dies a traumatic death or is in some way not yet ready to re-unite with the Broader Soul and so the soul will stay in the Earth realm and are experienced as ghosts. Eventually, though, ‘ghosts’ also reconnect with their Divine Spirit. There is no alternative.

Question continues:     But in an answer to one of my prior questions Higgins I believe stated that Heaven and Hell in the Bible were describing words for a “place” one might feel like they are in, in this life on earth.

Higgins:     When we used the word “place” to describe Heaven and Hell we meant emotional status. If Heaven and Hell were instead named Human Bliss and Human Misery the concept of Heaven and Hell would be easier to grasp.

Question continues:     So my question is, since Hell is a “place” while we are here in this life on earth why does the Bible talk about Salvation so much like we are being saved from Hell in the afterlife or after we die here on earth?  What does the word Salvation really mean, or stand for in the Bible?

Cheryl’s note:

From biblestudytools.com accessed September 18, 2014:      Baker’s Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology

Salvation:     Of the many Hebrew words used to signify salvation, yasa [[;v”y] (to save, help in distress, rescue, deliver, set free) appears most frequently in the Old Testament.

Higgins:     The Old Testament was written in Hebrew. Hebrew words do not translate directly into English. The above translation is perhaps the best for us to use for this response.

To help you understand the meaning of salvation as used in the Bible  first consider the human as an Eternal Soul that has a subpart, a Little Soul. The subpart, or Little Soul can be envisioned as a data collection vehicle like those that are sent to gather data from the moon or Mars. The Little Soul ventures forth from its home within the Eternal Soul. The Little Soul finds housing in a human body and thenceforth meanders about the Earth collecting information about the environment which it transmits back to the Eternal Soul. The Eternal Soul then ‘steers’ or guides the Little Soul/human by offering emotion relative to the data.

Emotion that feels good is intended to stimulate a Little Soul/human to proceed along that chosen ‘route’. Emotion that feels bad is intended to cause the Little Soul/human to feel disinclined to pursue more of that, whatever it is.

The Earth realm is dense and to the Little Soul/human it is much like walking in deep pool of water. Movement is slow and much impeded. Due to this density, Little Soul Humans tend to lose their way despite the ‘steering’ offered by their Eternal Soul. Jesus came to Earth to assist you all in finding your respective ways, hence the Biblical references to flocks of sheep and shepherds. Humans are a little like sheep who’ve gotten lost and Jesus is the shepherd bringing them ‘home’ or towards salvation or more specifically reminding them how the game is played thus helping them realign with their Eternal Soul which is directly aligned with the Godhead/Allah/Creator.

The word salvation as used most often in the Bible really means something more like Jesus came to help you in your distress to rescue you from your struggles in the dense Earth realm (where humans flounder much as though they are drowning). Jesus ‘showed the way’ meaning he tried repeatedly to convey that if you will believe (not wish or want but truly believe) then you, a Little Soul Human, can literally move mountains.

Much clarifying information was omitted from the Bible. That is in part why it is so difficult to understand much of what is meant. The information that is contained within its covers related to how it is to be human and how to play the Human Game is oblique and hard to follow.

The Bible speaks of salvation as being saved from an afterlife in Hell for several reasons: clarifying portions have been omitted; Hebrew and Aramaic do not translate directly to English so the meaning has been lost; and lack of complete understanding by both the authors and the translators.

Cheryl’s note:     Read Matthew 17:20 for Higgins’ reference to moving mountains.

Another Defintion for Compassion

Higgins’ live session September 2, 2014 at Everett, Washington:

Compassion is a deep and abiding appreciation for where another person is on their journey and in the way they are expressing themselves regardless of whether or not you agree with it.
